Kokugakuin University Library has a massive collection, including a number of treasured pieces and special collections.
This exhibition shows you some picture scrolls of Japanese tales from these collections.
We have chosen three famous Japanese tales, "Tale of Taketori(Bamboo cutter)", "The Slaying of Shutendōji" and "The Tale of Tawara no Tōda".
In this exhibition, we will introduce the allure and charm portrayed in the Japanese tales.
